A NEW LOOK. THE SAME MISSION. THANK YOU, FRIENDS!
First, we can’t thank the residents of Boulder enough for their support of our Boulder Public Library. Since 1974 we have been funding nearly 90% of all programming at BPL – from Summer of Discovery (summer reading program) to BLDG 61 (our amazing makerspace), and dozens of other programs. Our work wouldn’t be possible without your support – a heartfelt THANK YOU!
For the past several months we’ve had conversations with library patrons, library staff, community leaders, and myriad residents of Boulder. We’ve visited our past and we’ve contemplated our future. What we’ve come to realize is that our community is fortunate to have tens of thousands of library lovers like you. As a matter of fact, 96% of Boulder residents have a library card! Now that’s love.
We’ve also learned that more in the community want to hear from us, want to learn from us and want greater engagement with us. We’ve listened – and now it’s time to take action!
The one thing you are already noticing is our look and feel. We have updated our brand – which is a nod to the family, the community and how we lean on each other to make impact. We believe the new look has vibrancy, energy and a spark that will help in our communication efforts as we take on a more active role in the community, with our friends, and with prospective partners in support of BPL programs.
As part of freshening up, we’re doubling down on simplicity, focus and impact as we look to broader community engagement, raising more dollars, and considering new and innovative ways of developing relevant and exciting programs at BPL. We have simply turned Library League members into ‘friends’ of the Foundation. There are two ways for people to give – one-time, or monthly. Where else can you give and get ‘free books for life?!’
Thank you again for being our friend and helping to fund BPL programs that support a community of lifetime learning and participation. We’re always open to your feedback, thoughts and suggestions, and we look forward to being a more active and impactful Foundation in the years to come – for our library and our community!
