New leadership joins Foundation board

Apr 15, 2022

The Boulder Library Foundation’s board welcomes four new directors and an additional representative to its board from the Boulder Library Commission. The Foundation also bids a fond farewell to three directors who are term-limited after six years of dedicated service.

The new additions are Joel Koenig, Bill Kramer, Adriana Paola Palacios Luna, Jenn Yee and Steven Frost.

“The Foundation has always inspired people to come together in support of the library and ourcommunity,” said Tim Williams, incoming President of the board. “We are especially grateful for these new members joining our board and bringing their depth of expertise and unwavering commitment to the power of libraries to unite, inform, and even heal in trying times. We have many upcoming opportunities to do just that, and I am excited to see the legacy these new members will help us make.”

A bit about our new Directors:

Joel Koenig joins the board as a director after serving as a Boulder Library Commission representative. He retired as a senior partner at Deloitte specializing as an executive search consultant. He has served on many boards and civic organizations, before and after moving to Boulder in 2010.

Bill Kramer owned and operated Kramer’s Bookstore, Bar and Restaurant in Washington, D.C. before leaving the book business in the mid-1990s to work on the problem of knowledge dissemination for the benefit of emerging economies. He has engaged deeply in local efforts that connect to his career in business and economic development since moving to Boulder in 2011.

Adriana Paola Palacios Luna is an artist, poet, short story writer, storyteller, textile artist and explorer in the Maker movement. She has worked for more than 28 years in socio-environmental justice and social change projects. Her company, Luna Cultura: Art Science and Culture for Thriving Communities, provides bilingual and bicultural training, consulting and research services in the field of Art and Maker Education.

Jenn Yee has been in the workforce development and training space for the last decade. She’s currently Director of Learning & Development at Assemble HR Consulting. She and her children use the Boulder Public Library extensively and she is passionate about the role of books, storytelling and educational programs to power a more inclusive community.

Our new Boulder Library Commission representative, Steven Frost is an independent artist and instructor in the Department of Media Studies at CU Boulder. His research focuses on queer history, pop culture and educational development in DIY community spaces. Since 2016, he has hosted a monthly event called the Colorado Sewing Rebellion in BLDG 61.

Our deep thanks to our outgoing board directors, Phillip Foster, Tim Plass and Jeff Quick. Their service to our Foundation is appreciated and will be deeply missed.

Finally, we welcome the board’s new officers: Tim Williams, President; Nicole Sager, Vice President; Isaac Andres, Treasurer; Jenn Yee, Secretary; and Alicia Gibb Seidle, Past President.
