Donor advised fund (DAF) or trust gifts
You can support the library through your existing donor advised fund, foundation, or trust. Log into your DAF account or contact your financial advisor, community foundation, family foundation or trust administrator to direct a gift to the Boulder Library Foundation through your fund or trust. The Boulder Library Foundation is a 501(c)3 and our federal tax ID number (EIN) is 23-7408456. For further assistance, please contact julie@boulderlibraryfoundation.org or call 720-551-8385.
Employer matching
Many corporations match employee (or the spouse of an employee, or retiree) donations to the Boulder Library Foundation. Check with your employer to see if they offer this generous benefit–it’s a great way to double your giving. Contact julie@boulderlibraryfoundation.org if you need additional assistance.
And, if you volunteer with the Boulder Public Library, your employer may also provide the Boulder Library Foundation with a grant as a way to recognize your ongoing support. Check with your HR or CSR department.
Individual retirement account (IRA) gifts
If you are 70½ years or older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) offers a simple, tax-smart way to support Boulder Library Foundation. A QCD allows you to transfer funds directly from your IRA to the Foundation. The gift can count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) and is excluded from your taxable income, helping you reduce your tax burden while making a meaningful impact. QCD and RMD checks should be made payable to the Boulder Library Foundation (EIN# 23-7408456) and can be mailed to:

Gifts of securities
The Boulder Library Foundation gratefully accepts gifts of publicly traded securities. In general, donating securities in appreciated positions can help maximize an individual’s tax benefit. We will liquidate such gifts post haste, usually within 24-48 hours of receipt, as a matter of policy. No capital gains tax would be payable by either the donor or the Boulder Library Foundation. For more information about gifts of securities or to request our brokerage information, including for wire transfers, please email chris@boulderlibraryfoundation.org or call 720-551-8385.
