Library Resources

The Boulder Public Library is bursting with free resources that can save you money and enrich your life. Here are some of our favorites:
- Get a free library card and unlock a world of possibilities at any of Boulder Public Library’s branches, or online.
- Download, stream and access your favorite e-books, music, movies, magazines and newspapers – all for free!
- Join the DIY movement with free community workshops in the makerspaces at our Main and NoBo libraries. See the BLDG61 or Studio24 makerspaces in action, learn about equipment, get hands-on with a project of your own, or take a class.
- Bring your child to one of the many free storytimes that take place every single day at one or more of our library branches.
- Reserve a free meeting or study room at any of our libraries.
- Book the Canyon Theater for free! The library is dedicated to offering this 190-seat venue for the public to host free, open to the public, community events. The theater provides a staffed and accessible venue at no cost to the organizer.
- Reserve a free Culture Pass and gain free entry to local cultural institutions like the Boulder Phil, Butterfly Pavilion, Denver Botanic Gardens, Museum of Boulder and Wow! Children’s Museum.
- Enjoy free wi-fi, or reserve a free desktop computer or laptop Chromebook. Printing and copying costs 10 cents per page in black and white, and 20 cents per page in color.
- Research local history and genealogy at the Carnegie Library for Local History. Very few public libraries have collections of local history materials as comprehensive or as exciting as this. Don’t miss the Maria Rogers Oral History Project collection.
- Discover your Next Great Read. Join the library every Thursday on Instagram and Facebook between 1-3 p.m. to discover great books! Look out for their post, tell them one to three books you enjoyed reading in the comments, and they’ll suggest something new to read.
- Learn to read English, find a free reading or writing tutor, build your English conversational skills, study for your GED, enroll in US citizenship classes or volunteer with BoulderReads. These programs support children and adults in literacy development through high quality programs to open greater opportunities in school and life.
- Receive one-on-one tech help from a Digital Navigator. Set up email, navigate the internet, install apps, find affordable internet options and apply for community resources with individualized help.
- Attend a free program or event. From author talks to visiting artists, the library hosts hundreds of high-quality, free programs and events each year.
