The Boulder Library Foundation is proud to introduce the Cultural Caravan as its artists-in-residence for the 2023 season!
The Cultural Caravan is a 501(c) organization that has been bringing small businesses, social-service nonprofits, municipal organizations, and local artists together since 2021 to make the Boulder community stronger and more vibrant. To date, they have presented more than 50 events in every corner of Boulder county, presented dozens of performing artists with backgrounds in everything from Zimbabwean Afropop to Classical music, and reinvested more than $100,000 into the community in the process.
Now, the Boulder Library Foundation is bringing the Cultural Caravan’s one-of-a-kind MainStage productions to the library’s Canyon Theater stage! This winter and spring, don’t miss these free concerts featuring a diverse roster of Boulder’s finest artists with featured guests from around the world.

Featuring Gonzalo Teppa, Venezuelan Bassist, with guest artists Jorge Glem, cuatro, Manuel Rojas, Daniel Prim and more!

Josh Halpern Concert: Tombeau, Lost Voices of WWI
Featuring the Emil Trio: Josh Halpern, cello, Nathan Meltzer, violin, and Yannick Rafalimanana, piano
Josh Halpern brings his trio to Boulder for a program telling a story of the lives lost to the violence of war. Framed by works by Maurice Ravel, this concert will showcase compositions by composers such as William Baines, Albéric Magnard, and Georges Antoine––whose unique musical voices were silenced by World War I. Nathan Meltzer performs on the “Ames, Totenberg” Antonio Stradivari violin (Cremona 1734) generously on long-term loan from Rare Violins In Consortium, Artists and Benefactors Collaborative.

Hazel Miller, jazz icon, joins the Cultural Caravan for the first time to sing the jazz standards that inspired her to become a singer in the first place. This is music that Hazel never gets to sing, so don’t miss this opportunity to hear one of Colorado’s favorite performing artists sing the story of her love affair with jazz.
