It’s not every day that the Boulder Public Library gets a visit from an author who has sold over 400 million books, but that’s exactly what happened on the evening of May 1. On a cold and rainy night, an enthusiastic crowd in the Canyon Theater got to hear from RL Stine, one of the bestselling children’s authors in history. Some of his best known works include the Goosebumps and Fear Street horror series. Stine delighted the crowd with reading a passage from one of his short works and sharing answers to questions his fans most often ask him.
The highlight of the evening for many, however, was the chance to get their Goosebumps books signed by the author. A long line of fans, including many children, queued up to have a chance to meet the author, get a quick picture with him and smile at the author’s signature in their books. One family even came all the way from North Carolina to get to meet RL Stine.
This event was sponsored by the Boulder Library Foundation in collaboration with community partner the Boulder Bookstore.
