When some communities are seeing Libraries close their branches, the Boulder voters voted on a new Library branch getting built through a 2017 ballot initiative to the tune of $5 million. That is a great start! The new Library will be located at Broadway and Rosewood in North Boulder.
The Boulder Library Foundation will be launching a capital campaign to help further fund the bells and whistles of this Library: the playground, makerspace, community garden, possible commercial kitchen. We are getting an amazing building by world renowned architects, Work AC, putting a Boulder icon on the map for their flavor of architecture. The designs are beautiful, the building echos the landscape, and the spaces are innovative for human consumption.
If you’d like to be involved, there is an upcoming Community Engagement Opportunity:
- May 8, 2019 — Library Commission meeting, Main Library, Canyon Meeting Room
The project team and the Library Commission welcomes input from the community at any time. Contact Antonia Gaona, the project coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions or input about the project. All input received is shared with members of the project team and the Library Commission.
