We’re a community of Library lovers, and families in North Boulder have been patiently anticipating the groundbreaking of their very own branch. That day has finally arrived!

Set to be located at the east side of Broadway at Rosewood, stretching between Broadway and 14th Street, the new North Boulder Library offers a secluded, protected location with expansive views. 

With construction now underway, the Boulder Library Foundation is leading the charge to close a $1.5 million funding gap. You can help! Without additional support, the final project will likely not include defining features such as:

      • a new culinary indoor and outdoor makerspace
      • access to new and expanded BoulderReads! spaces
      • a playground, learning garden and outdoor plaza
      • and much more!

Having a new library branch will both enrich our community and care for our environment. Designed by WORKac, the North Boulder Library promises to serve as a model for net zero and green architecture around the world. In short, environmental sustainability and an emphasis on community-friendly space are at the center of the project.

• Natural beauty. The design for the North Boulder Library takes advantage of views from the site south toward the mountains with large public spaces, while creating a sloped, landscaped garden to the north.
• Seamless, inside-out design. Imagine community rooms accessible after hours. Picture an extensive makerspace spilling outside to a playground that’s incorporated into the building’s façade.
