The Makerspace Movement

Get a Sneak Preview of the Library’s Makerspace!

On the evening of Friday, October 16th, the Boulder Public Library is pleased to present “Turning Ideas into Reality: The Public Library of the 21st Century.” Sponsored by the Boulder Library Foundation, this event will feature a conversation with Mark Frauenfelder, the founding editor-in-chief of Make magazine.

Mark is a reputable and engaging speaker, weaving anecdotes and examples of the history of the Maker movement while painting a picture of what the future may look like. Along with wine and hors d’oeuvres catered by Seeds Café, the evening will feature a tour of the Library’s new makerspace. All over the country, makerspaces are popping up to offer community workshops and space for Do-It-Yourself (DIY) projects—such as sewing, building, designing, fabricating, welding, and 3D modeling.

Our library is truly on the cutting edge of this movement by making our space open to the public at no cost. Please join us for this exciting event.  Register today!
